Yächtley Crëw - Seas The Night
If you had a yacht, where would you go? Ask that question to Yachtley Crew and the answer would be a no-brainer—they’d set sail back to the glimmering golden age of Yacht Rock. For the SoCal seven-piece, the seven seas and the 70s are one and the same. Despite their cheery veneer, nautical attire and penchant for puns, the “Titans of Soft Rock” Yachtley Crew are serious about rocking out—and having fun.
Thanks to their innovative approach to—and obvious adoration of—music, and their unique sense of character, Yachtley Crew have so far sailed their career to treasured realms. The band has played residencies at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas for three years running, alongside selling out venues across the U.S., and were featured in HBO’s 'Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary', which debuted in November 2024. They were also the first band to ever be captured live on SiriusXM's Yacht Rock Radio, whilst numerous press outlets have lauded Yachtley Crew for their impact on U.S. pop culture and bringing “Yacht Rock back into the mainstream” [Fox News].
Following 2023’s EP 'Seas the Day', released on the late Jimmy Buffett's record label Mailboat Records, Yachtley Crew signed to Earache Records and released 2024’s Christmas mini-album 'Seas and Greetings'. On their upcoming album 'Seas the Night', Yachtley Crew reimagine a “handful of songs that everybody’s heard from the 70s and 80s American songbook”, including beloved hits like “Hold the Line”, “Come and Get Your Love”, and “Magic”.
“This album captures the spirit of a Yachtley Crew performance—joyful, explosive, and unapologetically smooth. We’re proud to be the torchbearers of Yacht Rock, and this record is our biggest love letter to the genre yet,” the band enthuse.
For 'Seas the Night', Yachtley Crew are reunited once again with esteemed producer/mixer/engineer Chris Lord-Alge, who has previously worked with everyone from Stevie Nicks to Bruce Springsteen. The album was mastered by Ted Jensen, who's famed for his work on the likes of Eagles' “Hotel California” and Green Day's “American Idiot”.
'Seas the Night' also features the brand new track “Pain Of Losing You”, which was written for Yachtley Crew by the legendary songwriter Diane Warren, who's responsible for hits by Cher, LeAnn Rimes, Aerosmith, and more—earning her a GRAMMY Award, Emmy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and an Academy Honorary Award in the process. Although the song is newly written, the earnest yet upbeat track feels like it’s been mined from the 80s itself, fitting in seamlessly with the rest of 'Seas the Night'.
The star-spangled, glowing neon Vegas marquee on the cover of 'Seas the Night' is not only a nod to the golden era of showbiz, the band reveal: “It’s a symbol of how we approach every show and every song: all in, no holding back. We wanted the 'Seas the Night' album art to feel like the moment just before the curtain rises in Vegas: it captures the over-the-top glamor, nostalgia, and high-energy fun that defines Yachtley Crew.”
They continue: “Our mission has always been to celebrate the smooth classics with total commitment and a wink. But it's always been about more than just playing the hits; it’s about turning every show into an unforgettable experience. That’s why we’ve become the world’s top Yacht Rock band, and this album is proof of that evolution.”
'Seas the Night' is due out on August 29 via Earache Records.
